Kaarel Piirimäe is a senior research fellow at the Estonian War Museum and a research fellow at the University of Tartu. Since 2014 he has also been a senior researcher for the Finnish research project 'Reimagining Futures in the European North at the End of the Cold War'. Piirimäe's main interest lies in the international history of the Baltic countries in the 20th century.
